COMMITTEES & REGIONAL DEPARTMENT
The department is responsible for coordinating HoR offices at both central and regional levels. It also supervises the secretaries who work with the HoR sub-committees.
Thus, the department’s core engagements will include: • Organising and supporting all committee activities with regard to scrutinising legislative and policy proposals; • Supporting committees debates on bills and policy documents; • Assisting participants of the House of Representatives in committees’ meetings; • Oversee the cohesion between committee activities and plenary sittings; • Produce minutes and summery reports, when so instructed of all committees’ meetings, deliberations public hearings and conferences/seminars of the house of representatives within timeframes set by secretary general in consultation with the chairman of the committees. • Ensure coordination and communication of the regional offices with the main office; • Managing the physical aspects of the Regional Offices and their assets. It includes Inventory Management as well as identifying and securing buildings suitable for Regional Offices; • Ensure good working relations with other Departments that support the work of Committees; • Coordinating the formulation of the Department’s risk management framework, risk profiling, risk reporting and monitoring; • Perform such other functions as may be conferred by the Secretary General or Speaker; Secretaries, Committees and Regional Coordination Department comprises of the following sections and units: 1.
