Honourable Abdirizak Khaliif Ahmed was born in the city of Lasanood in 1967. It was there that he spent his childhood and completed his elementary education. Later, he moved to Somalia for the aim of furthering his education and attended both high school and university.
His political Career.
Honorable, Abdirizak Khaliif Ahmed is the current Speaker of the House of Representatives and he was elected to this position on August 3, 2022. Hon.Abdirizak Khalif Ahmed is the 5th Speaker of the House of Representatives of Somaliland. Prior to his election in 2012, he held the position of Minister of Industry, Trade, and Tourism in 2010 and several political positions.
In 2013, the president Ahmed Mohamud Mohamud appointed to become the Minister of Public Works and Housing of Somaliland. In 2015, he resigned from the Minister of Public Works and Housing in the government of President Ahmed Silanyo, who later joined the opposition WADDANI.
During the time that he served on the WADDANI opposition Party, he was first elected to the position of Secretary of the Finance, a position that brings together all of the party’s financial and campaigning budgets, and then, later, he was elected to the position of First Chairperson of the WADDANI Party.
Before beginning his career in politics, he was a successful businessman. He served as the chief executive officer of the Amal Bank and the Sool regional office of the Amal Bank in Sool region. He also chaired thes several business events and committee of the Bank.
Honorable Abdirisaaq Khaliif Ahmed who is the member of the House of the Representative elected from the Sool region in Somaliland is now the 5th speaker of the to the House of Representatives.
